Not your traditional open studio, Brenda Oelbaum is a political activist artist who works across painting, performance, photography and installation art to create works that push the boundaries on issues of social justice, representation, and discrimination, to provoke thought, feelings, dialogue and active participation.

In November 2026’s A2StudioTour Oelbaum will introduce visitors to her newest installation that invites the viewer to more deeply experience, process and question issues related to food and eating, embodiment, appearance, and self-image at a time of year when holiday and new year messaging, expectation and influence around food, weight, and shape is at its peak.
